Far Out Design’s journey kicked off with a single, humorous idea: Could a T-Rex pull off a deadlift? From that quirky spark, a world of imagination unfolded. I took this lighthearted notion and tried to bring it to life through design.

Digital art is not something I ever thought I would be good at, I did not see myself as creative. I had the idea for a t-shirt with a design of a T-Rex attempting a deadlift, a few years ago, and I spent months trying to convince my designer friend to mock up this design for me so I could put it on a tee. Eventually, I decided to try and draw this dinosaur myself, and I am so glad I tried.

My inaugural design. Toby the T-REX embodies the mindset of not giving up and even if you cannot achieve greatness, give it a go anyway.

My creativity began to evolve, and I started to test my skills at drawing Toby doing other exercises, so the T-REXERCISE series began.

Whilst I continue to enjoy drawing Toby-related cartoons, I have begun to look closer to home for ideas. My day job is in the IT industry, and it turns out there are lots of good design ideas from my day job.
